How to categorise transactions.

Our system is smart, but it’s not you. While we try to keep the homework to a minimum, you may want to categorise a few transactions differently.

Here’s how. Scroll down for instructions for Web, Android and iOS:

WEB:

  1. Log into 22seven. Go to the Transactions tab. Your transactions are categorised by Spending Group (e.g. Day-to-Day, Recurring, etc.) and Category (e.g. ATM & Cash, Insurance, etc.). Click on a transaction to bring up the transaction detail view.
  2. Select "Change" under the "Spending group" section. And/or select "Categorise" to change the transaction's category.
  3. Click on the checkmark to save, and you're done!

P.S. Once you’ve done this, new transactions with similar details will automatically be categorised the same way in future.

ANDROID:

  1. Log into 22seven and hit the menu icon at the top left of the screen, then select Transactions. Your transactions are arranged in chronological order and are categorised by Spending Group (e.g. Day-to-Day, Recurring, etc.) and Category (e.g. ATM & Cash, Insurance, etc.). Tap on a transaction to bring up the transaction detail view.
  2. Select “Categorise” next to the transaction’s spending group and category. This will bring up window where you’re able to select a new spending group and category from two drop-down lists.
  3. Hit “OK” when you’ve selected a new spending group and/or category. Your change will automatically be saved.
P.S. Once you’ve done this, new transactions with similar details will automatically be categorised the same way in future.

IOS:

  1. Log into 22seven and tap on the Transactions icon at the bottom of the screen. Your transactions are arranged in chronological order and are categorised by Spending Group (e.g. Day-to-Day, Recurring, etc.) and Category (e.g. ATM & Cash, Insurance, etc.). Tap on a transaction to bring up the transaction detail view.
  2. Select the spending group/category section. This will bring up a screen where you’re able to select a new spending group and category.
  3. Tap on “Confirm” at the top right of the screen to save your change when you’re done.

P.S. Once you’ve done this, new transactions with similar details will automatically be categorised the same way in future.
