Standard Bank Verification Code

My Standard bank accounts are not updating lately.  Most likely due to the introduction of a verification code that Standard Bank has introduced with the old log in method that 22seven uses.  What are the plans to get these accounts working again?

  • Hi Henry,

Thanks for getting in touch. Our teams have been working on the instability we've been experiencing with the Standard Bank website over the last few days and it looks like we have made some progress with cheque and savings accounts.

However, we see that there are some outstanding issues with credit card, loan, and investment accounts that we need to investigate further. I will be in touch with you via email shortly.

  • Experiencing the same issue.

Standard Bank seems to have introduced an OTP verification now when logging in. When Yodlee tries to update the transaction information, an OTP is sent to my phone and of course it fails to log in.

  • I'm getting the same OTP sms messages for my SB accounts.   I look forward to this being fixed as my SB accounts haven't been updated since 1 Aug.

  • Hi Karl, Julius and Victor,

The issue here is the verification code sent when logging in from a different IP.

A possible workaround that worked for some customers are to update your accounts on 22seven and log into the Standard Bank online banking platform, then enter the verification code sent to you on the Standard Bank website?

The other workaround here would be to use he NEW Standard Bank online banking website and link your accounts. After doing this you can delete the old accounts and let us know via email and one of the Svens will gladly merge the old transactions to the new accounts.

Sorry about the process here, but this should get you back up and running again on 22seven.
