Allow automatic update frequencies other than once per day

I like the automatic update feature, but I really don't need it done every single day on every single account. The daily notifications from my banking applications can be annoying.

Also, some accounts aren't that important, like Pick N Pay Smart Shopper points, or only change monthly like auto financing and money markets.

It would be nice to have the ability to tune the update frequency for each account from daily to monthly, or set a global parameter to update every X days.

  • Hi Henry,

Thanks for sending through your suggestion! I'll make sure to pass it on to our Product Design team.

This is something a few 22seven customers have requested, and we totally agree that it would be very handy. There's some complication around building something like this, however, so we have to of course weigh all of our options when deciding whether to push the button. Please rest assured that there's definitely a discussion around this at the moment, though.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can assist you with in the mean time :)

  • Hi Lydon (22Seven team),

Has a decision been made about the per account auto update frequencies? It would really make a great tool even better.

    Regards,

    Arthur.

  • Hi Arthur,

Even though we've had discussions about the frequency of the auto account updates, and the option of adding more customisation, we have not yet implemented this.

I do hope we can get this launched soon but there is no current ETA for this at all.

  • I'd like to second something like this. Many accounts, like an RA for example, don't change that often and a monthly check would be more than sufficient.

  • Same here, if I was allowed an option like once a month on a specific date then I would this feature.

  • Hi Umar,

Thanks for letting us know that there's still demand for this feature. This is something we've been chatting about quite a bit recently. While I don't have any final decision(s) to share at this point, we're hoping that we'll be able to do so soon :)

  • Hi Patrick,

Thanks for sending through your feedback as well! I've passed it on to the rest of the team.

\We're actually in the process of investigating something like this at the moment, so hopefully we'll have news to share in the relatively near future ;)

  • I love this app, I think it's awesome. BUT my goodness I hate the daily updates. But what I try do now is force the app to stop and then I restart and force stop it once every ~2 weeks roughly.

  • Hi Kusasalethu,

Thanks for sending through your feedback. We are looking for ways to improve this feature, however, I don't have an ETA at the moment but I will pass on your feedback to our Product Design team.

  • Three years down the line and this would still be an amazing feature to add! Especially when some banks don't even allow you to disable SMS alerts for logins.

Any news (apart from that you're currently investigating it - jokes :P)?

  • Hi Cameron,

Unfortunately, this isn't in our current pipeline. We'd like to encourage customers to update their accounts at least once per day so that we're able to deliver the likes of Nudges and spending alerts timeously. Regular updates are also important for other features we're currently working on.

While this doesn't mean changes to automatic account updates are completely off our radar, we do believe the features we're currently working on and plan to implement over the coming months will be more valuable to our overall customer base.

Sorry we don't have better news right now, but we hope you'll enjoy the other features we're working on, and we'll of course share your comments with our Product team to help them prioritise our backlog moving forward :)
