What's future budgeting and how do I use it?

22seven lets you time travel up to one year into the future and set budgets, so you can properly plan for expenses you know are coming.

Here's how to set a budget for a month in the future:

Web:

  1. Log in to 22seven. Click on 'Budget' in the menu bar on the left of the screen.
  2. Click on the arrows next to the date range at the top of the screen until you've navigated to the month you want to set a budget for.
  3. Click on the category you want to budget for, then enter an amount into the bar titled 'Set budget amount' and click 'Save'.
  4. You'll be prompted to choose whether you want to set your new budget amount for all future budget months too, or only for the budget month you’re currently viewing.

Android:

  1. Log in to 22seven. Tap on the menu bar at the top left of the screen, then select 'Budget'.
  2. Swipe left on the date range at the top of the screen until you've navigated to the month you want to set a budget for.
  3. Tap on the category you want to set a budget for, then select the 'Budget' button and follow the prompts. 
  4. You'll be prompted to choose whether you want to set your new budget amount for all future budget months too, or only for the budget month you’re currently viewing.

iOS:

  1. Log in to 22seven. Tap on 'Budget' in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Tap on the arrow next to the date range at the top of the screen (or swipe left on the date range) until you've navigated to the month you want to set a budget for.
  3. Tap on the category you want to budget for, then select 'Edit Budget' and follow the prompts.
